St. Mark's Basin and the Church of Santa Maria della Salute This beautiful view of Venice from the late 17th century, painted by Caspar Van Wittel, shows St. Mark's Basin facing the Customs House and the Church of Santa Maria della Salute on the left.
In the centre is the Grand Canal of Venice, and on the right are the Doge's Palace and St. Mark's Bell Tower, the two columns of the Piazzetta San Marco and the Marciana Library.
