Photo Shot Authorisation at the Vatican Museums in Rome
Raphael, School of Athens Except for the Sistine Chapel, it is allowed to photograph the works and environments of the Vatican Museums for personal and domestic purposes only.
The use of the flash is always prohibited.
Using photographic easels, drones and/or professional equipment is prohibited.
The use of the extendable selfie rod is prohibited.
In the Sistine Chapel, it is forbidden to take photos and film videos with any type of electronic device.
The staff of the Custody Body is authorised to request the immediate cancellation, in their presence, of video/photographic material made in contravention of the law.
